Radioastronomy

As a future project, we plan to observe the galactic HI radiation at 1420 MHz. During the past we ran a similar experiment using our 3-meter dish antenna aside a work done for CNES (read this post).

Several technical achievements have to be made to perform these observations with optimum quality. We already have developed a software for tracking a fictive target on the galactic plane. A L-band source adapted to this frequency range has to be built and adapted to PB8, and a low-noise receiver must be chosen and installed.
