First moon bounce operated at PB8

July 11, 2012 is a very special date for Pleumeur-Bodou.  Fifty years ago today, on July 11, 1962, the first ever live television signal was transmitted across the Atlantic between two earth stations, Andover, USA and Pleumeur-Bodou, Europe, by means of Telstar 1 satellite.

To celebrate PB8 established today its first moon bounce operated at 5760,108 MHz. The tracking of the antenna was done by hand.
